Motorcycle license plate holder: The solution for your license plate

Every vehicle owner is obliged to attach a license plate to a motorcycle. Many motorcycles already come with a license plate holder as standard. However, the standard motorcycle license plate holders are not really eye-catching. What you need to consider when choosing a motorcycle license plate holder

This applies, for example, to saddle bags, luggage rolls and wheel covers. You may not be able to attach these if you have a side motorcycle license plate holder. If you still prefer a side motorcycle license plate holder, there are some regulations you need to be aware of. A side license plate holder is only permitted with a test report or a partial report. If this is not available, an inspection by the TÜV must take place. Also pay attention to the visibility and angle of the license plate holder on the motorcycle. The holder must not extend beyond the outline of the motorcycle.

Are short license plate holders allowed on motorcycles?

Short motorcycle license plate holders are allowed as long as the requirements of the German Road Traffic Act are met. In addition to legibility, you should also pay attention to size. A motorcycle license plate has a minimum width of 180 mm and a maximum width of 220 mm. The height of the license plate is prescribed as 200 mm. The motorcycle license plate holder must therefore be able to support this size.
