More light with new motorcycle headlights
A good main headlight on a motorcycle is not only indispensable, but also mandatory. Visibility is the be-all and end-all on a motorcycle. Bright and powerful lighting is the best way to ensure visibility. Good motorcycle lighting is not only important at night, but can also save lives during the day. Poor weather conditions, such as rain, fog and snow, can quickly lead to poor visibility during the day.
More safety with LED motorcycle auxiliary headlights
Often, the standard motorcycle headlights are not enough to see enough on the road. The mostly installed halogen headlights usually cannot keep up with LED headlights. To still have good lighting on your motorcycle, we recommend replacing your halogen headlights or installing motorcycle auxiliary headlights. This will significantly improve your visibility and at the same time make you more visible to other road users.
It is not only safety reasons that motivate many motorcyclists to install LED auxiliary headlights on their motorcycles, they can also look good. That's why our range includes auxiliary headlights for motorcycles in a variety of designs. When installing the LED motorcycle auxiliary headlight, please note that it should be attached as close as possible to the main headlight so that the motorcycle can still be recognized as a so-called single-track vehicle.
Do motorcycle headlights have to have an E-mark?
All lighting in the EU must have an ECE approval number. Without an approval number, motorcycle headlights or even auxiliary headlights are not approved for road use. So when buying a main headlight and an auxiliary motorcycle headlight for your motorcycle, make sure that they have an ECE number.
What is an ECE approval number?
In the EU, there are components that may not be mounted without an ECE approval number. These include, for example, exhaust systems, lighting and mirrors. The ECE approval number indicates that the component meets EU safety standards and is therefore approved for road use. If a component does not have an ECE approval number, you must either be able to present an operating permit or a partial certificate.
Do additional headlights on a motorcycle require registration?
In principle, you do not have to register your additional headlights on the motorcycle. However, the additional headlights must have an E-mark. Also note that there are legal requirements for the number of additional headlights on a motorcycle. A maximum of two dipped headlights, two main headlights and two fog lights may be mounted on a motorcycle.
What types of motorcycle headlights are there?
There are two different types of motorcycle headlights. Halogen headlights are an older technology that is still in use. Due to their low price and easy installation, halogen headlights are still installed as standard in many vehicles.
Compared to halogen headlights, LED headlights for motorcycles have the advantage that their luminosity is significantly higher. This not only makes you much more visible on the roads, but also gives you a better view. The more robust nature of LED headlights also gives them a longer lifespan than halogen headlights. Other advantages are the lower energy consumption and the compact design of LED headlights on motorcycles. This is a huge advantage, especially for a motorcycle's main headlight. When buying, make sure that the main headlight has the functions parking light, high beam and low beam.
