More safety with new motorcycle grips from MOTEA

Motorcycle grips are an essential element for perfect control and balance of your bike. Both the look and the performance of your motorcycle are significantly influenced by the motorcycle grips.

The grips are especially important for safety while driving. For example, if the throttle grip comes loose while driving, you can quickly lose control. This makes it all the more important to mount high-quality grips on the motorcycle. Otherwise, the contact feeling can suffer and safety risks can arise.

Wear and tear is quite normal for motorcycle grips. Sweat, rain or sun damage the motorcycle handlebar grips over time. For safety reasons, you should therefore replace your handles in case of doubt. You can easily attach new handles to your motorcycle. They are registration-free.

Customize your bike with new handles

The look of a motorcycle is becoming more and more important. Many bikers want a motorcycle that matches their lifestyle, their attitudes and their preferences. It is no wonder that standard motorcycles are becoming increasingly rare. Custom bikes are much more popular. Components such as the exhaust pipe, fuel tank and lights are regularly replaced for aesthetic or performance reasons. Motorcycle handgrips are also among the parts that are frequently replaced.

There are motorcycle grips in all shapes, colors and sizes. You can find a wide range of different grips in the MOTEA online shop to suit your every need. In addition to conventional rubber grips, we also offer heated grips for your motorcycle. However, you should take particular care when installing heated grips on your motorcycle.

What is the best way to change my motorcycle grips?

Changing motorcycle grips is often more difficult than it seems at first glance. When removing the old grip, it is especially important to make sure your motorcycle is stable. For example, use a work stand so that your motorcycle is secure and cannot tip over.

The adhesive of the old handle can often be very stubborn. Therefore, you should first heat your rubber grip so that it comes off more easily. You can use a hair dryer for this, for example. Then you can remove the motorcycle grip with twisting movements. If it doesn't work, try using a thin screwdriver. The screwdriver should be sprayed with oil. You can then slide it under the grip. After that, you should be able to remove the motorcycle grip.

Once the old motorcycle grip has been removed, thoroughly clean the handlebar. To remove the adhesive residue, acetone is suitable, for example. Once the motorcycle handlebar is free of residue, you can apply the adhesive for the new grips. Some grips already have an adhesive tape. In this case, you can skip this step. Then slide the new grips over the handlebar ends. It is important that you push them on all the way. Also make sure that there are no air bubbles between the grips and the handlebars. Then let the adhesive cure.

It is important that you check the throttle on your motorcycle before your first ride. You should be able to use it without any problems. Sometimes the new throttle can rub against the end of the handlebars and you won't be able to accelerate properly. In the worst case, an incorrectly mounted throttle can pose an enormous safety risk.
